Daniel Lubetzky
Shark Tank Biography
Daniel Lubetzky, founder and CEO of KIND, is on a mission to make the world a little kinder one snack and act at a time. Maker of delicious and nutritious foods, KIND created a new healthy snacking category with the introduction of its first fruit and nut bars in 2004. Established as a not-only-for-profit, KIND is also committed to using its business as a vehicle for social change. Its KIND Movement inspires everyday acts of kindness, and The KIND Foundation works to create kinder, more empathetic communities. Most recently, the Foundation unveiled Empatico – an idea that Lubetzky conceived more than a decade ago. Empatico is a $20 million initiative that connects elementary students worldwide and empowers them to explore their similarities and differences. In 2018, Fast Company recognized Empatico as a World Changing Idea winner.
Drawing on his experiences with KIND, and more than two decades in the food industry, Lubetzky seeded an independent organization called Feed the Truth in 2017. This nonprofit seeks to improve public health by making truth, transparency and integrity the foremost values in today’s food system. A social entrepreneur working to build bridges between people, Lubetzky is also the founder of PeaceWorks Inc., a business that fosters cooperative ventures among neighbors in the Middle East. Additionally, he co-founded Maiyet, a fashion brand that partners with artisans to promote entrepreneurship in developing economies, and the OneVoice Movement, an international grassroots effort that amplifies the voices of moderate Israelis and Palestinians seeking to end the conflict. Most recently, he founded Lubetzky Family Foundation, an organization that is working to build human understanding, stronger communities and more resilient democracies by fostering empathy and critical thinking.
His commitment to creating economically sustainable and socially impactful business has been lauded by BusinessWeek, Time, Advertising Age and Entrepreneur. Lubetzky has also been recognized by the World Economic Forum and the Skoll Foundation, and was an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® award winner in 2013. In 2015, President Barack Obama and Secretary Penny Pritzker named him a Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship for his investment in emerging entrepreneurs. In 2017, Lubetzky was named a Hero of Conscious Capitalism for his work championing purpose alongside profit. That same year, the international nonprofit Search for Common Ground celebrated his achievements in conflict resolution, community building and peacebuilding. In 2018, the Hispanic Heritage Foundation presented him with the Hispanic Heritage Award for Entrepreneurship at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. In 2019, he was appointed to the Anti-Defamation League’s Inaugural Board of Directors. Lubetzky is the author of the New York Times bestseller “Do the KIND Thing.”
Lubetzky has lived in the United States since emigrating from Mexico at age 16. Today, he lives in Manhattan with his wife and four children, and enjoys spending time with his family and practicing magic.

Shark Comparison
Season 11's Biggest Guest Sharks
Of all the guest sharks to appear on Season Eleven, Daniel invested significantly more than the next four in the top five but only on the strength of just two investments! Since it has been confirmed that he is returning in Season Twelve, it will be interesting to see how he compares with all guest sharks from across all the seasons as his investments, hopefully, continue.
When comparing Daniel to the regular sharks, however, like all guest sharks, his total number of investments doesn't even come up to the smallest number made by Robert or Daymond. But, he also doesn't look too shabby either.
