Grease Monkey Wipes
Grease Monkey Wipes is a company from Austin, TX, that has created a new type of body wipe for cleaning up. Started by two friends that were recreational cyclists, Grease Monkey Wipes are a citrus based, natural and organic degreaser that should be able to take chain oil off of one's hands. However, Grease Monkey Wipes are also aimed at mothers with, one presumes, very dirty children.
On the pleasant upside for once, Grease Monkey Wipes are not patented because the business is new (and spending money on intellectual property lawyers is a waste of money) but also because they don't have to disclose the formula that way. Their logo is trademarked, however.
Each package of Grease Monkey Wipes sells for just $1 and 40% of bicycle shops that have carried the product have re-ordered. In the last six months, the company has booked $7,400 in sales.
In a surprise move, especially for Season One, Robert Herjavec and Barbara Corcoran teamed up to give the entrepreneurs exactly what they asked for! This is, in large part because the equity offer was always generous at 40% and the valuation was only $100,000 to begin with.
