Apparel

Apparel is a category reserved for companies who make it their primary business to make and sell some type of clothes or other clothing accessory. We do not differentiate within this category where the clothes are sold, be it online, through a distributor, or direct to stores.

The one exception to this is whether the company could be seen as primarily running a physical retail store. Even if the company makes and sells their own clothes through this store, the company would be categorized as retail instead as the challenges of retail are different from that of a small clothing manufacturer.

(One can debate whether stores like Rag & Bone or The Gap are not stores that also make their lines of apparel but, given the relative size difference, this is not a debate we're particularly interested in having.)
